Motivation for Lily

Thanks to PetFinder.my, Mrs Lee was able to know about Lily. She decided to adopt Lily due to her strong resemblance with her previous dog, Shereen.

However, there were various concerns raised throughout the adoption process namely, whether Lily could get along with Mrs Lee's five rabbits as well as her resistance to walk in the park.

The rabbits..
Mrs Lai, together with Annie, dropped by Mrs Lee's place in Bandar Utama to quickly check up on Lily's progress. Initially Lily did not deal well with the five rabbits but given one week, she had began to settle down with them.

Although Lily has had some slight difficulties in adapting to her new home, we hope that Mrs Lee and her family do not lose patience. After all, it is clear that Mrs Lee and her daughter like Lily very much. And Lily, of course appears to have taken a liking to the family members as well as the rabbits.

We are sure that given a little more time, Lily will be able to adapt to her new home. Hopefully the one month time frame given by Mrs Lee for Lily to adjust will be sufficient for her to get used to her new environment!

Good luck, Lily! We, from Second Chance wish you all the best!

Mary got adopted!

It was 1st April 2012 and while everyone in the rest of the world was having fun playing pranks on each other, a guardian angel smiled upon Mary and decided that Mary should be having a different kind of fun-
that is to be adopted into a loving family, with 2 young boys to play with and be showered with lots of TLC!

Thanks to Michael Theng and family for making the right choice -- to adopt. Since it was on April Fool's day that the family made a connection with Mary and vice versa, a name change was inevitable- Mary is now known as April.

April's 2 other siblings are still looking for their forever homes and rightful human companions. Interested parties may contact us for more info. The white pup is Max (male) and the cream coloured one is May (Female).

Alexis and Lala Adopted!

Another two beautiful girls have been adopted..

Farewell, Alexis and Lala!

Here's a picture of Ben trying to get to know Alexis better. The adoption papers are already in his hands!!! :)
Ben looks pretty satisfied with his choice. A picture of Lala checking out Ben while Ben pats Alexis. How sweet.
Alexis (8 months old) and Lala (7 months old) were adopted by Ben recently. Picture above shows Ben holding up Alexis to have a picture with her before loading her into his car. Lisa couldn't resist having her head included in the picture!

Finally.. Alexis and Lala are ready to head to their new home! Alexis and Lala are both very active and playful girls. They will definitely be glad to have plenty of space to run and play in their new home. Hopefully, Ben will find them useful in caring for the groupper fishes in his ponds as well!

Adopted: 3-month old Swee San!

Little pup Swee San found a home last December and a loving owner in her adopter, Nicholas Chu. Accompanied by his father, the 15-year old was excited about having a dog in the house to play with for the first time, and wanted to pick one out himself.

He couldn't resist the charm of the 3-month old Swee San, and we are very glad to see her find a new home.

Thank you Nicholas and family for giving Swee San a home!

Good news! Alexander has been adopted!

Alexandra and Alexander were rescued from the dog pound by Mrs Lai a few months ago when they were still very small. Alexandra was adopted by a kind lady but agreed to foster Alexander at that time as they were both still very young to be separated. It was two weeks ago since Alexander was returned to the shelter. And good news have arrived! He has been adopted by Margaret! They have lost their dog several months ago and was looking for a puppy to accompany them. Alexander is one lucky pup. He will get kept indoors by his adopter. Here are some pictures of Alexander and his adopters!

Thanks Margaret for giving Alexander a home where he will be taken care of and loved.

Life in a Tin Can - by Miss Anna

Do you all still remember our lil' Anna who was adopted by Miss EJ in August 2011?
Read Anna's adopted story here.

Mummy EJ love Mischievous Anna to bits

Here's the little update from Miss EJ last night.

Hi Paws Mission,

Thought Mrs. Lai might like to see what mischief Anna's been up to this morning:

Ended up getting the gardener to get the tin off her with a pair of special scissors.

Don't worry, she's fine now. Doubt she'll be looking for biscuits anymore soon!

Cheers,
Ej

Updates from Brindle's (formerly Subu) new home!

Brindle and Kerry

Our gentle giant, Subu, has been settling comfortably into her new life after being adopted by Robynn. Besides being given a new name, Brindle, she has also put on weight and was immensely curious about her new environment at first. This resulted in a lot of cats being chased all around the house by a very energetic blue mastiff!

Adopted: Blue Mastiff, Subu

Subu, a fearless and loyal 7 year old Blue Mastiff has a new owner!

A kind-hearted lady, Robynn, had agreed to take care of Subu for the next two years until her teaching term is up.

When Subu’s new owner first met her new companion, she was delighted and called her a “gorgeous” dog.

We bet Subu will be equally delighted, as Robynn has a huge compound with lots of space for Subu to run around instead of being caged up in a small kennel.

Joey and Elvin found homes and wonderful families

Few days ago, Eileen introduced Mr Ramanathen, a retiree who came to the shelter to adopt Joey, his wife fell in love with Joey at first sight and refused to look further.
Mr. Rama must be very happy with our dogs, so he recommended his son , Mr Siva to come and view our dogs also. Mr Siva, his lovely wife and 2 sons picked Alvin because he was so big and so handsome . Meng Yuet would miss Alvin very much because she has been taking care of him for so long, it was hard to say goodbye.
Mr Rama joked that he has started to recommend people to adopt our dogs and Mrs Lai promised to give him some commission if he keeps bringing people back. He laughed!
Well, at least Mr. Rama and his family has adopted 2 big dogs from us!

Happy adoptions like this is what keeps us going. Rehoming dogs at our shelter is a never ending job. But to see them with their new families, it really is a very happy sight.

Mindy has been adopted!

We are surrounded with such great news recently. Some of our dogs were adopted during the adoption drive at IOI mall and also at the shelter. Even better news that Mindy has been adopted! Mindy was fostered by Mrs Lai with loads of TLC. She has been adopted by Mrs Lai's neighbour. Now their dog Abby has a new friend whom she can play with and get some exercise. here's some pictures taken at Mindy's new home. Mindy is happy that she has a big sister now who will look after her. This is Abby, the big sister. Mindy is the brown puppy.

This is such great news that Mindy has found a good home and great company with Abby. We hope more dogs will have this privilege.

Pandai-nya....

Do you still remember our Lil' Panda Girl who was rescued by Ethan in MRR2, Ampang back in 2010?

The 1st week when we started fostering her. She was looking really lost back then. And she was an avid escape artist.

Few weeks after fostering... She was looking happier and started being a very homely girl (宅女). She dashed back to the toilet where we kept her during daytime once she was done with her eating and business.

And then Panda Girl finally has her day. She is an super-duper lucky puppy who got adopted by the young couple Alvis & Helena.

Rugged Mark, adopted

Handsome and rugged Mark has been adopted last Sunday! Unfortunately since most of us were in IOI Mall for the adoption drive we didn’t managed to snap a Happy pic of Mark and his adopter. Mark will be sent for neutering before he set foot in his new home.

Mark

We’re truly happy that Mark will be starting a whole new chapter of life with his new family soon. Our grateful thanks to the kind adopter for giving Mark a home.
