Out of Sight, Never Ever Out of Mind: Madame Wong

Our most senior citizen @ Second Chance, Madame Wong (15 years old) has gone to the rainbow bridge on last Saturday morning due to pneumonia. R.I.P. Madame Wong, you will be missed by all of us. I couldn't hold back my tears ever since I received SMS from Mrs Lai informing Wong had since passed away in the morning. I promised to pay her a visit once I come back from Singapore and bring her a bottle of chicken essence. I feel extremely bad for not making on time to see her the very very last time.

Madame Wong was rescued in my neighborhood back in July 2011 due to the maggot wound around her genital area. Thanks bunches to my younger brother, Fei who was willing to transport her to the vet clinic despite how awful her maggot wound smelt in the car.

She was still looking bright and lively @ Dr Edmund's clinic despite all the pain she had to endure. Read here for Wong's rescued story. She didn't look like she was 14 y/o at all right? Her eyes were still pretty bright for a semi-stray dog who had no tender, loving, care throughout her life, never had enough food & water and not even a proper shelter during rainy days. Her hopeful eyes told me to never ever give up on her no matter how many surgeries / treatments she needed to go through. Thank you Dr Edmund, Dr Goh & Dr Lee for taking care of her for the past 1 year.

Our super brave Madame Wong enjoyed her acupuncture treatment by Dr Susanna. We’re very proud of Madame Wong for behaving so well throughout the treatment. Never once did she growl.

She even earned some treats from Andy, Petfinder.my for practicing Sit & Hand command. Million thanks to Andy for raising emergency fund for Madame Wong.

The ever-friendly Madame Wong making friends during her daily walking session. At times her hind legs were very weak and the caretaker needed to assist her with a piece of cloth during her walking session.

Our last pics taken back in March 2012. I can't remember what made both of us so happy actually...

Madame Wong was so adorable that every caretaker in Second Chance shelter adores her to bits. She never failed to greet you with her signature smile whenever you were near her kennel. She always melts our hearts with her smile and beg us walk her around the shelter.

Her bright and almost-toothless smile simply brighten up everyone's day! =)
Dear Wong, you will be definitely be missed by all of us from Second Chance and those who had crossed path with you. I am so glad that I actually picked you up and you do make such a huge difference in my life. R.I.P. Madam Wong. Thank you for all the caretakers & volunteers who had taken care of Madame Wong and pay her visit at the vet clinics when I couldn't be there for her. XoXo!

Dearest Subu has passed on

Subu, the gentle giant mastiff has left us on Sunday, 8th January 2012. She suffered from compications from her pregnancy. She was too old and could not sustain the pregnancy. The foetus died inside and resulted in toxic in her blood system. The vet has given her blood transfusion because of low platelet count , a surgery was performed to remove dead foetus but she could not make it and died the next day.

Subu was not spayed as she was already old and would not be able to stand the anesthesia. None of the ground workers saw any male dogs into her kennel as she is kept in the kennel all by herself. Subu, we miss you dearly.
