A Smelly Affair......Get better soon Daniel

This is our latest rescue. Daniel was found wandering weakly near the shelter area. When we got close to him, we were shocked to see the severity of its wound! He was thin and frail. We could see his eyes were running out of life. He must have been in a lot of pain as when Dr Calvin tried to check his wound, he would try to bite him. We thank Dr Calvin for his prompt action and withstanding the stench. The maggot wound smells like rotten flesh. His wound has been cleaned and it will take some time to fully heal. In the meantime, he is required daily wound cleaning which will cost us rm35 per day. We are in need of funds to help this dog spend his last few years in a better condition. He is an elderly dog with one eye blinded. How life has treated him, we can all see from his impaired vision, his frail body and the maggot wound. To help us, please PM us or email us at info@2ndchance-kennel.com. Or you can bank in your donation to Maybank 5628 5210 4418 Second Chance Animal Society.

Following photos may not be for the fainthearted, but we need to disclose the severity of the wounds, also this is the only way to show how much pain he must have been suffering...

Daniel at the vet for treatment, look at those lifeless eyes...

Hundreds and hundreds of maggots in the wound

There were just so many maggots that it took 2 sessions to fully get rid of them

Thank you Dr Calvin for tirelessly treating Daniel's wound and bearing with the stench of rotten flesh

Negasunt is applied on the wound to prevent flies from going in to lay eggs
