House Check!

Eric was adopted during the June adoption drive which was held at our shelter. He was adopted into the loving family of Chris Tay. We went to their house to check on Eric as according to Chris, he has been biting their shoes! When we got there, Eric was very alert and barked at us. He was indeed a good guard dog. He loves to shake hand with people and can be easily trained. If given time and a bit more patience, his habit of biting shoes can be solved as well. Here are some pictures during the house check.

We hope that this family will give more Eric a little bit more time to overcome this habit of biting shoes. Alas, we would like to thank Eric's adopter for giving Eric a second chance.

Teaching an older dog not to bite can be a little trickier. Bad habits are hard to break without a lot of time and patience.
Options available to deal with the biting habits are:
a) you should purchase chew toys for your dog to divert its attention away from biting;
b) remove those shoes from his environment in order to create a "bite prove" environment;
c) include bones in his daily meal so that he gets to chew on the right item intead.
