Rescuer Handbook 101

We are currently recruiting volunteers & rescuers. For the rescuer wannabes, please immerse yourself in our ‘Not-So-Comprehensive’ Rescuer Handbook 101!

Are you ready for the tough challenge, brave warrior? Here it comes!

1. Deal with the grumpy pups / doggies. No, they won't be wagging their tails and diving into your arms.

2. Brave & Flexible. Practising yoga / going to gym certainly helps in rescue work. Agility training (or contortionists) would be an added advantage.

Can’t imagine how he squeeze into the tiny space.

3. Dog-bite resistance. Yes, you are gonna be chewed, so be a man and don't cry.

4. Creative & Persistent. Think out of the box if you wanna get them into a box.

No dogs were harmed in the process of dog-catching last weekend.
Gim made do with the leashes and rod that we had in order to rescue the puppies.

5. Weather Proof. Sorry, no time for umbrellas or sun block.

Rescuers are required to work under hot sun / rainy days
On the bright side, you'll get loads of Vitamin D

6. Strong & Muscular. You might qualify for Olympics weight-lifting soon.

hartamas 025Please practice this daily with 10kg ~ 20kg dumb bells.
Aunty Kim & Nicole carried the two grumpy pups to the car.

7. Sacrifice your weekends & be prepared to work till late evening with no OT claim.
hartamas 029We reached the shelter around 8.30pm after catching the pups.
This is not the end yet…

8. Tahan Kotor + Tahan Lasak. This will help whet your appetite before you eat your delicious dinner.
