Young Pup With A Big Abdomen

Little Pup

This little pup was rescued from Puchong Industrial Area by one of the volunteers. He was found to have a huge abdomen, so big that he could hardly move and we noticed his gum was very pale.

We sent him to a vet in Old Kuchai Lama but just before his turn, he started gasping for air  and the vet quickly examined him, but he died a few minutes later.

The vet performed an autopsy on the little pup, here is what she said:-.
During post mortem, this puppy was found having the following signs: pale mucous membranes  hepatomegaly (liver enlargement), splenomegaly (spleen enlargement), and ascites. Those findings revealed that this puppy might have liver disorder.
Liver disease in young animal may be due to viral (such as adenovirus) or bacterial infection, parasites, inflammationobstructive bile duct disease, toxic reactions, or as a result of certain medications.

Goodbye, little one, we have not had the time to really know you nor give you any name and you have already left this world. We truly feel sorry for you, we hope you are having a better life, in a better place....

This is where we buried him

This is the plight of many stray animals, be they young or old...

Poor little guy. At least he's not suffering the pain in his abdomen anymore. Rest in peace, little one!
